Common questions
Is Cobalt Capture free?
Yes, to try and to use. Capture, dictate, annotate, publish, share, and export as many reviews as you like, with no password and no credit card. We ask for an email when a review is ready, so we can send you the link. A link you share keeps working for the people you sent it to. After 7 days the review becomes read-only for you.
What happens after 7 days?
The review goes read-only for you, and stays fully readable for everyone else. Anyone with the link can open it, read every screenshot and note, and comment on it, for good. What stops is your side: editing, the markdown, HTML, PDF and Word exports, Send to GitHub, and agent access over MCP. Pro reopens all of it instantly, on that review and every other one on your account. Nothing is ever deleted, and a recipient is never asked to pay for someone else's review.
Why 7 days?
Most reviews do their job inside a few days: the agent reads it, the fix ships, everyone moves on. That part stays free, and so does the link you sent. If you are still working on a review after a week, editing it, re-exporting it, or handing it to an agent again, it is doing ongoing work, and that is what Pro is for.
What does Pro cost, and what if I cancel?
$5 a month or $50 a year, per account. Cancel any time from the billing portal. When the paid period ends, reviews older than 7 days go read-only again. Nothing is deleted, the links keep working, and resubscribing reopens editing and exports.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. Reviews published without signing in are deleted after 30 days. Signing in is free and saves the review to your account, where it is kept: read-only for you after 7 days on the free plan, editable throughout on Pro.
Can I delete my reviews and account?
Yes. Reviews can be deleted from your reviews list. To delete your account entirely, contact us. See the privacy policy for what gets retained.
