About Cobalt Capture
A screenshot and annotation tool for the moment after the screenshot: the feedback has to reach a developer or an AI coding agent, and it has to arrive in a form they can act on.
What it is
Cobalt Capture starts where most screenshot tools stop. You capture a screen, crop to what matters, drop numbered pins and arrows, and talk through what's wrong instead of typing it. The result is a review at a shareable link: a page a stakeholder can read, and a markdown document a coding agent can read directly, screenshots included. There is no install and no account needed to try it.
The other half is newer. A coding agent can drive the whole thing itself over the Cobalt MCP server: point it at a URL, and it signs up, works the real tasks a new user would, screenshots every point of friction, and files the review. Ready-made playbooks cover usability passes, positioning audits, and single-flow walkthroughs, so the person asking only needs the site's address.
Who builds it
Cobalt Capture is built and run by PerfSpot LLC, a small US software company, as part of the Middlefield General Services family of tools. It is a small team that ships small, focused products and keeps them running. The tool exists because we needed it ourselves: our own feedback loop with coding agents was a pile of screenshots in a chat window, and nothing in it survived to the next session.
It is free to try and to use. A review stays live for 7 days on the free plan; Pro keeps every review on an account live. Questions and problems go to the contact page, and a real person reads every message.
